The first regional conference dedicated to Recycling Day was held in the Government House of the Moscow Region on November 13. The event was attended by representatives of ministries, agencies involved in the management of territories, waste processing companies and manufacturers of waste management equipment. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the current state of the industry, share experience and develop strategies for the future.

Vladislav Murashov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He noted that the waste recycling industry will develop using high-tech solutions and emphasized the importance of disseminating successful practices of the Moscow Region throughout the country.

Tatyana Sakharova, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Agrarian Policy and Nature Management, recalled the tasks set by the President to achieve environmental well-being in Russia, including 100% sorting of garbage and reducing landfills to 50%. She noted that successful experience already exists, which should be adapted and implemented at the regional level.

Representatives of leading companies such as SIBUR and Oris Prom LLC made presentations on their achievements in waste recycling. Among the participants was also Evgeny Benzak, Deputy General Director of A.PRO LLC, who shared his company’s experience in waste recycling. Attention was also paid to the efforts of public organizations active in the field of waste management and environmental protection.

Liliya Belova, Chairperson of the Public Control Association, noted that the conference will become a starting point for further steps to develop a closed-cycle economy and improve waste recycling in Russia.

The conference was attended by more than 300 specialists, several of whom were awarded letters of appreciation. The organizers are confident that such events will be held annually, contributing to further progress in waste recycling.
