At a meeting of the board of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin reminded that according to the May presidential decree, one of the national goals is to ensure sustainable economic development on the basis of fair competition, technology and support for entrepreneurship. As Prime Minister noted, progress in these areas largely depends on the effective work of the FAS.
The service faces strategically important tasks - control over compliance with antimonopoly legislation, suppression of price increases in industry and retail, as well as the fight against cartels. Particular emphasis is placed on strengthening control over intermediaries' markups and detecting price collusions.
«The eradication of such illegal practices requires continuous improvement, in particular digitalisation, the use of big data and artificial intelligence. And of course, interdepartmental co-operation, including with colleagues from the tax service, the Treasury, and law enforcement agencies. This is the purpose of the Anticartel information system. Its implementation should begin already this year», Mikhail Mishustin emphasised.
The Antiсartel information system is being developed with the participation of Bolshaya Troika LLC. The company is responsible for the technological implementation of the project, including the integration of analytical tools and AI-based solutions. The system is designed to strengthen the government’s ability to combat anti-competitive practices and increase the transparency of market processes.
Mikhail Mishustin noted that the timely and objective work of the FAS is of systemic importance for the entire economy and helps protect the interests of both businesses and citizens.
