In business the word ‘efficiency’ immediately associates with economic efficiency: spend less to get more. However now everyone starts to pay attention to ecological efficiency: how to get the same result, by minimizing the damage on our environment. Technologies, as well as informational ones, help in such situation.

First of all, everything is needed to be thoroughly planned. Modeling technologies help us here. For example, digital model of territorial schemes allowed us not only to save couple of milliard rubles for populations, but also to increase the volume of useful recyclable fractions and to minimize the damage from waste burial.

Second of all, everything is needed to be organized in such way, so that plan is fulfilled as it should be. Optimal routes for garbage routes – it is not only about saving funds, but also about decreasing the atmosphere emissions. And if the container is not filled enough – you do not have to pick it up at all. Fullness sensor of the container is particularly relevant for containers with utilized wastes. We have installed 8900 of these sensors in Belgorod region. And soon we will be able to share the first results with you!

However, not all data can be gotten from sensors. If it is needed to organize the collection of reports from respondents, it is important that the report forms are as thoughtful, as it is possible and the collection instrument by itself helps respondents, rather than being an additional burden.

It is possible to dedicate those, who voluntarily do not submit the data, via ‘big data’ analysis. For example, we have learned to reveal waste generators, that did not sign a contract on waste disposal. We already helped regional operators find more that 7 milliard rubles, of which they did not even know. Moreover, more than one million of them actually were already collected. And this is only within a dozen of regions. If we want operators pay proper attention to ecology, it is important that their services are properly payed off.
