Vegan silk
Everyone knows that silk is produced from the cocoons of silkworms. However, modern designers find this method of production insufficiently humane. Therefore, they have decided to use plant analogues of silk.
Fashion designer Stella McCartney exclusively uses artificial silk. Indian roses are can be used for the production of vegan silk. Their petals are dried, crushed, twisted into threads and dyed with natural dyes. The result is a delicate, glossy fibre, which is used with pleasure by designers.
